This Privacy Policy explains what information MinecraftPixelArt.com ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use https://minecraftpixelart.com (the "Site"), why we collect it, and what choices you have. Please read it alongside our Cookie Policy and Terms of Service.
1. Images and files you upload
This is the most important section, so it comes first. When you select an image, that image is read directly by your web browser and processed on your own device using JavaScript. It is never transmitted to our servers. We do not receive it, store it, back it up, analyse it, or share it with anyone. When you close or reload the page, it is gone from memory.
The same applies to everything derived from your image: the converted block grid, your edits, and any PNG, .mcfunction or command output you generate. Files you download are written directly by your browser to your own device.
2. Information we collect automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and our analytics and advertising partners automatically receive certain technical information when you visit:
- IP address (often truncated or anonymised by the service processing it)
- Browser type and version, operating system and device type
- Screen or viewport size
- Referring website or search term that brought you here
- Pages viewed, time spent, and general interaction patterns
- Approximate geographic region, derived from IP address — typically country or city level, not a precise location
We use this to understand which features get used, to spot pages that are broken on particular devices, and to measure whether changes actually improve things.
3. Information you give us directly
If you email us, we receive whatever you put in that email: your email address, your name if you sign it, and the contents of your message including any attachments. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to maintain a record of issues reported.
The Site does not have user accounts. We do not ask for your name, address, date of birth or payment details, because we have no use for them.
4. Cookies and local storage
We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies. Broadly they fall into three groups: strictly necessary cookies that make the Site function, analytics cookies that tell us how the Site is used, and advertising cookies used to select and measure ads. Our Cookie Policy describes each category in detail and explains how to control them.
The Site may also use your browser's local storage to remember small preferences, such as your chosen export quality. Local storage stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
5. Advertising and Google AdSense
This Site is free to use and is funded by advertising. We work with third-party advertising partners, including Google, to display ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or Your Online Choices.
- Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before non-essential advertising cookies are set.
We do not share the images you convert with advertisers, because we never have them in the first place.
6. Analytics
We may use analytics services such as Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. These services set their own cookies and process data under their own privacy policies. Where the option is available to us, we enable IP anonymisation. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
7. Legal bases for processing
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we process personal data on the following bases: consent, for non-essential cookies including advertising and analytics; legitimate interests, for keeping the Site secure, preventing abuse and understanding aggregate usage; and legal obligation, where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.
8. Data sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the Site — our hosting provider, our analytics provider and our advertising partners — and only to the extent needed for them to perform that function. We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or ourselves.
9. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where such transfers involve personal data from the UK or EEA, those providers rely on recognised safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or applicable adequacy decisions.
10. Data retention
Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the analytics provider, typically between two and twenty-six months. Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Because we never receive your images, there is nothing to retain.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw consent at any time, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Residents of California have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" — we do not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@minecraftpixelart.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law.
12. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. Security
We serve the Site over HTTPS and keep our software up to date. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. The strongest protection here is architectural rather than procedural: because your images are never uploaded, they cannot be exposed by a breach of our systems.
14. Third-party links
The Site links to external websites, including Minecraft community resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites and encourage you to read their policies.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site. Continuing to use the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the revised policy.
16. Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent to support@minecraftpixelart.com or through our contact page.
